Info on Guangzhou

Guangzhou 广州市 (pronounced Gwong-joe...I thought it was Gwong- cho as in rhyming with the the cho in chore, but it's more of a j sound before the ch, so it's a little trickier to pronounce, but I've found if you say the last syllable like joe, it works quite well.)

“The city is also known by an older English-language name, Canton. It is a port on the Pearl River, navigable to the South China Sea, and is located about 120 km (75 miles) northwest of Hong Kong…. It the most populous city in the province and the third most populous metropolitan area in mainland China." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guangzhou

The city is the capital of Guangdong Province and has a history of more than 2,200 years. Guangzhou enjoys mild weather all the year round.
